Wood Warblers

Small, usually very colorful songbirds exclusive to the New World. There are 114 species, 50 of which breed in North America. Birders eagerly await their return every spring. I wonder if birders in Central and South America are as excited to see them return at the end of the breeding season.

Black-throated Gray Warbler spent a month at Olin Park in Madison, WI last year. He was a hit with birders flocking to see him. Usually a western bird, he must have gotten lost.
